The last week saw our grassroots teams continue their pre-season outings, which included tournaments for two of our mini football teams at Valley.
It was our U13s who kicked the weeks fixtures off as they hosted Caernarfon Town academy at the Go Goodwins Stadium on Thursday with a make shift team putting on a valiant effort, as the visitors ran out 5-1 winners on the evening.
Saturday morning saw our U13s girls and U14s boys in action as they hosted Brickfield Rangers and Ogwen Tigers respectively. The girls produced a promising display against older opposition and competed well throughout against the current NEWFA league champions eventually losing out 5-3 with the young seasiders goals coming from Grace Fallon-Smith, Amelie Hamil and Sasha Wright. It was then the U14s boys turn and they produced a promising performance as they won 8-4 with goals from Harry Glennon (3), Brooklyn Zilka (2), Dion Roberts, Harry Williams Adams and debutant Brooklyn Davies.
Sunday then saw our U8 and U11s boys both making the trip to the Valley Tournament. It was to turn out to be a positive day for the teams, as they both went on to win their respective age group with the U11s defeating Llanrug and the U8s overcoming Pwllheli via a golden goal.
The weekend was round up impressively by one of our youngsters Anna Carey who stepped up to play in her first senior game, and in doing so grabbed the headlines by netting four goals for our Ladies against Welsh Premier League opposition in Aberystwyth and deservedly received a standing ovation on leaving the pitch from those in attendance.
