Last weekend saw a number of our grassroots teams in action, which included a first outing for our newly formed U16s at the Go Goodwins Stadium.
Saturday morning’s schedule of pre season fixtures included our U13s girls and U14s boy who hosted Hawarden Rangers and Prestatyn Athletic respectively at John Bright. The girls featured in an entertaining encounter playing out a 5 all draw with goals from Amelie Hamill (2), Ava Jones (2) and Summer Murphy. Not to be out done the boys fixture was produced a high scoring encounter, as they came from three down to draw level thanks to goals from Dion Roberts, Harrison Millican Jones and Brooklyn Zilka before NWCFA Cup holders Prestatyn went on to run out 5-3 victors.
Meanwhile at the Go Goodwins Stadium the U16s boys welcomed Trearddur Bay in what was a competitive affair with the visitors scoring just before the interval to take the lead before Josh Duckenfield equalised just after the restart as his shot crashed in off the crossbar. With the game slowing down through fatigue it was a last minute cross come shot from Lucas Jenkinson-Jones with the last kick of the game that gave the young Seasiders the win.
Sunday then saw the U8 boys in action as they took part in the Conwy Borough FC Tournament at Y Morfa where they ran out eventual Europa winners while the U17s girls put together a mixed team using players from both the 15s and 17s squads, as they hosted Crosby with the visitors running out 11-8 winners.
Our U13s girls would like to thank their sponsors Richardsons Windows, Home Cookin, Coast Café and North Wales Jaguar for their support ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
