Grassroots Weekend Round Up 26/08/24

The week saw a number of our grassroots teams in action as they geared up for the 2024/25 season with their final pre season fixtures.

The week’s fixtures began on Tuesday evening with our U13s boys suffering a rare defeat at the hands of Wirral based Victoria Colts before the U9s boys took on Colwyn Bay U10s on Wednesday evening with Kobe (5), Oliver (3), Josh (2) and Harri (2) amongst the goals while the U8s boys took on Mochdre on Thursday evening with goals from Thomas (2), Toby, Cassius, Alfie, Harry, and Axel. The midweek action was rounded with our U16s boys under the lights on Friday night as they ran out 5-0 winners over Ogwen Tigers thanks to goals from debutant Ewan Dunn, Sam Butterworth, Mason Gardener and Josh Duckenfield.

The weekend then began with two exciting encounters on the Saturday morning as the U13s girls came back from three goals down at the interval to claim a 4-4 draw with Sofia Patel (2) and Amelie Hamill on the scoresheet. This was then followed by the U14s boys who overcame NWCFA Cup finalists Segontium 4-3 with goals through Harry Glennon, Reuban Gregson, Harry Williams Adams and Harrison Millicant Jones.

Sunday brought the curtain down on a busy week as the U11s boys took on Llandudno Junction and in the process producing some good collective play while the U17s girls comprehensively overcame Northop Hall at The Go Goodwins Stadium as Anna Carey (4), Angharad Jones (3), Aoife Pugh (3), Amelia Mercer (2) and Katie Tansley netted for the young seasiders.
